Location: Drop Off for opening Session is at the Masonic Temple.

The Pre-Legislative Session is the “kick-off” activity for the New Jersey YMCA Youth and Government Program.  Attendance is MANDATORY for all participants. The afternoon will be composed of the following:

Registration / Opening Session:

• Introduce delegates to the New Jersey YMCA Youth and Government Program
• Introduction of the Governor, Cabinet Members and Chamber Leadership
• Primary Elections for Secretary of State Candidates

Committee / Chamber Sessions:

• Learn Parliamentary Procedure and Debating Techniques
• Learn how to further reserach and stregnthen existing Bills
• Introduce and begin discussion on the Bills submitted by Delegates
• TREASURY:  Begin setting the budget
• JUDICIAL: Learn how to draft a brief and review the case law on the issue
• LOBBYIST CORP: Meet members of firms and begin identifying Bills that will interest prospective clients
• JR LEGISLATORS: Meet with other delegates and begin learning program structure and procedures
