How to Participate
- Contact Anthony Perno, the YMCA New Jersey Youth & Government Program Director to inform him of your intent to participate and begin to recruit students for the program. At least six (6) students are recommended to form a delegation.
- Submit the Intent to Participate Form along with a Delegate Credential and $100 deposit per student & advisor by March 9th. The Intent to Participate Form indicates the number of students that are committed to participating in the program. Upon receipt of aforementioned items, Program Staff will send you your students Legislative Assignments to you via email.
- Students should begin work on assignments!
- Pre-Legislative Submission is: March 10th. The following items are due:
-Advisors: Delegation Roster
Hotel Reservation Form
Lt. Governor Nomination Form
-Legislative Delegates: Bills
Due via Online Submission by 11pm March 10th. - Attend the Pre-Legislative Session @ Trenton, NJ.
Students will learn Program procedures and gain valuable information to further prepare themselves for Conference.
The following items are due at the Pre-Legislative Session:
-Advisors: Remainder of all Program fees.
-Judicial Delegates (Courts): Outline of Case Briefs
-Lobbyists: Client Research Memo - Final Program Submission are due April 2nd. The following items are due:
-Advisors: Updated Delegation Roster
Updated Hotel Reservation Form
-Legislative Delegates: Bills
due via Online Submission by midnight April 3rd
-Lobbyists: Client Bill Research
-Judicial Delegates (Courts): Judicial Briefs
-Treasurers: Bill Statement and Budgets
-Press: Press Assignment
-Junior Legislators: Jr. Legislator Assignment - Come to Trenton, NJ April 16th-18th, 2010 with an open mind and willingness to learn and have fun.
Conference registration begins Friday at 9am.
